Belarusbank officially becomes a member of WSBI

On May 9, 2012 in Marrakesh (Morocco) during the 19th General Assembly of WSBI, Belarusbank has officially become a member of World Savings Banks Institute.

 

Belarusbank is the first bank in the Republic of Belarus which is a member of WSBI.

WSBI is one of the largest non-commercial banking associations and serves as a representative of savings banks and other retail banking institutions throughout the world. The number of states participating in the organization is 91, the total assets of which amount to more than EUR 9 trillion.

WSBI membership allows Belarusbank to exchange information concerning the latest technologies and innovations in the field of retail banking; to use global approaches for the development of savings banking; provides an opportunity to increase the number of the bank's partners in the international financial arena.

The association includes such banks as Ceska Sporitelna AS, Ceskoslovenska Obchodni Banka, a.s. (Czech Republic), BPCE (France), Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband e.V. (Deutschland), Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio SpA (Italy), PKO Bank Polski SA (Poland), Slovenska Sporitelna AS (Slovakia), Swedbank (Sweden), Lloyds Banking Group (United Kingdom), Wells Fargo (USA).
