Belarusbank assigned byAA+ rating with a stable outlook by Russian agency Expert RA

Belarusbank was rated ruBBB- with a stable outlook subject to country risk adjustment upon transfer from the Belarusian into the Russian rating scale.

According to the agency, the bank's credit rating is underpinned by its strong market position in the Republic of Belarus, a reasonable estimate of capital adequacy, profitability and asset quality, an acceptable liquidity position, as well as a moderately high level of corporate governance.

The rating is positively influenced by a very high probability of support from the Government of the Republic of Belarus to Belarusbank due to its high importance for the economy and the banking sector of the country.

Reference: Expert RA is the largest rating agency with more than 20 years of track record. It is included in the register of credit rating agencies of the Bank of Russia, and is also on the lists of independent verifiers of green and social bonds of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), the Moscow Exchange and VEB.RF. The agency's ratings are included in the lists of official requirements for banks, insurers, pension funds and issuers. As of April 1, 2021 the agency maintains more than 700 credit ratings, of which 445 are issuer ratings and 295 are bond issue ratings.
