Belarusbank, CDB determine new cooperation areas

Representatives of Belarusbank have conducted bilateral meetings with China Development Bank and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. The meetings focused on new areas of sustainable development of Belarus-China relationships in the sphere of finance.

During the meetings CDB Chairman Zhao Huan thanked Belarusbank for assistance in opening of the CDB Representative Office in Minsk, which became the 10th foreign representative office of the Chinese bank.

The parties also discussed the agenda of the upcoming visit of the Belarusian government delegation to China that will take place in the framework of the 2nd Belt and Road Summit.

On the sidelines of the meeting of the SCO Interbank Consortium, representatives of Belarusbank also had a chance to conduct negotiations and consultations with the SCO Secretariat (V. Norov, SCO Secretary General), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (Danny Alexander, Vice President), MOFCOM Department of Eurasian Affairs (Luo Weidong, Director of the Department of Eurasian Affairs), Development bank of Kazakhstan JSC (B. Zhamishev, Chairman of the Board), RSK Bank (A. Omorkulov, Chairman of the Board), State Development Corporation VEB.RF (I. Shuvalov, Chairman) etc.

The business meetings took place in the framework of the participation of Belarusbank delegation headed by Chairman of the Board Viktar Ananich in a themed seminar that was organized by the Interbank Consortium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Chinese city of Sanya on February 20-23, 2019.
