Panel discussion on Open Banking in Belarus turned out to be the most interesting both for the banking community and for representatives of fintech companies.

The participants of the discussion exchanged their opinions on the implementation of the Open Banking concept from four viewpoints, such as regulation, ecosystem, open API and remote identification.

“We have to accept Open Banking because by 2025 we will have a single space with EurAsEc. But we should be well-prepared and understand what our potential consumers need. We should work to enhance their level of loyalty. It will help if banks work on their further behavior pattern and decide whether they want to be the supplier of the full cycle of service, or they become just an interface, - Executive Director of Belarusbank Alexander Egorov stressed.

“We can develop Open Banking, the High-Tech Park, but we still have low labor efficiency at our manufacturing plants, and young people are employed by those enterprises. The don’t need neither IT technologies, nor Open Banking, because with the resources that they earn they will not afford those things that we discuss here today. That is why banks, as well as the IT sector, should contribute to the development of all other sectors of the economy”, - Alexander Egorov said in his summarizing remark.

The executive director of Belarusbank also moderated the discussion dedicated to the implementation of developments in the banking sector, and Head of the Client Support Division Sergei Andreyev told about the experience of the introduction of ITSM processes in Belarusbank.
