The 3rd International Finance and Banking Forum of the CIS member states known as Minsk Business Meetings opened in Minsk on October 26, 2017. The forum was organized by the CIS Finance and Banking Council in association with the Belarusian government and the CIS Executive Committee. Belarusbank supported the event as the title partner.
“It is the third time that Minsk is offering one of its largest venues for the purpose of networking between representatives of the leading financial institutions, government agencies and members of the CIS business community. The forum plays a vital role in the establishment and maintenance of partner relationships between representatives of the leading financial institutions, discussion of topical issues, presentation of new opportunities and efficient experience exchange”, - Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Viktar Ananich said in his opening speech.
The forum focused on the development of financial and economic cooperation between the CIS member states, the insurance market, as well as major IT trends in the financial sector.
“The forum enabled us to identify and discuss the existing problems and outline solutions compliant with the current situation. The scope and level of the event facilitated an efficient exchange of ideas between the leading experts of the key areas of economy and finance with regard to the most vital issues of economic development within the CIS”, Viktar Ananich said.
“We live in a constantly changing and highly competitive environment. Pursuing its new development strategy, Belarusbank is eagerly following the global business trends, using the relevant decision-making methods, flexibly responding to current challenges and client needs, forecasting possible economic changes and adjusting its processes and technologies accordingly. Thus we have something to communicate to our foreign colleagues, and their experience will be useful for us, too”, he added.
One of the sessions of the forum will be dedicated to Belarusbank. It will focus on export potential supporting instruments and the proven experience of their implementation.
Top quality service, reputation and successful practice of international business enable the bank to expand its international network of partners, bring foreign assets to the national economy and the economies of the CIS member states, and implement a number of prominent large-scale projects. Well-functioning representative offices abroad help the bank stay close to its clients and foreign partners.
The overarching theme of the reports at the forum is connected with mutual investments that are deemed to be the growth driver of national economies. Wolfgang Neumann, Director of EU-Policies, DSGV, the German Savings Banks Association, and chairman of the WSBI-ESBG Coordination Committee, showed much interest in cooperation with Belarusbank.
The key outcomes of the forum will be translated into recommendations aimed at more effective cooperation within the CIS, particularly in the spheres of financial market development, introduction of the latest banking technologies and products, expansion of export and import.
The forum gathered around 250 participants from the CIS and non-CIS countries.
