S&P upgrades Belarusbank’s short-term credit ratings (press release)

International rating agency S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the short-term credit ratings of Belarusbank from ‘C’ to ‘B’. The agency has affirmed the long-term credit ratings of the bank at ‘B-‘, outlook stable.

Belarusbank’s business position is characterized as “strong”, which reflects the bank’s dominant position on the Belarusian market. According to S&P, Belarusbank’s funding is assessed as “above average” compared to the general level of the banking sector of Belarus.

International credit ratings are viewed as reliable independent assessment of Belarusbank’s credit profile. Solid ratings serve as a vivid proof of the bank’s transparency and financial solvency. The fact that the bank is regarded as a reliable business partner helps facilitate transactions on the debt capital market and attract investments.
