Belarusbank has successfully completed a large-scale transaction, drawing an unprecedentedly big syndicated loan. The size of the loan which equivalents to $265 million is an absolute record of the national financial market. The lender banks are financial institutions of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Latvia, as well as the Eurasian Development Bank.
“Belarusbank has started the year with a landmark event for the bank and the whole country. Despite the continuing instability on the financial markets and the toughening demands of foreign lenders, the bank has managed to arrange the biggest syndicated loan in the history of the national banking system. Moreover, the terms of the loan will enable the bank to reduce the cost of funding for the bank’s clients. The funds will be used to finance foreign trade contracts”, said Siarhei Pisaryk, Belarusbank Chairman of the Board. In his words, the project vividly proves the bank’s high status on the international financial market, its flawless business reputation and the trust of foreign partners.
