Belarusbank committed to extending cooperation with German business circles (press release)

Business forum “Day of Belarusian Economy. Germany and Belarus – partners in economic and investment areas” was held on September 8, 2014 in Frankfurt am Main (Federal Republic of Germany) in the headquarters of Commerzbank AG.

The forum was attended by representatives of Euler Hermes, Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, leading banks and business circles from both countries, ambassadors of Belarus in Germany and of Germany in Belarus.

Belarusbank delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Board Sergei Pisarik.

The forum saw the discussion of issues referring to the current state, terms and practical aspects of trade and economic, credit and investment cooperation between Belarus and Germany, new challenges of time and potential opportunities of joint business.

Sergei Pisarik noted that Belarusbank has considerably extended the boundaries of its business in Europe and Asia in the recent years and at present is actively cooperating with more than 200 foreign banks, national export credit agencies, forfeiting organizations, credit and financial institutions, thus contributing to the attraction of considerable short-term and long-term foreign resources to the national economy.

Germany is one of the main trade and economic partners of the Republic of Belarus in the West. At present our country provides an opportunity for European business to take part in a large number of projects in various sectors of economy, such as modernization of chemical, woodworking, energy industry, agriculture, construction of logistic centers. Such forums serve as a catalyst for development of business relations.

Sergei Pisarik assured that Belarusbank will continue studying external markets, actively use new borrowing instruments, deliver presentations of the bank and render a full range of international services to its customers and partners at a high professional level to ensure further extension of cooperation with international financial institutions, an increase in volume of attracted foreign investment, diversification of funding methods.

The meeting of the Ambassador of Belarus to Germany Andrei Giro and the Ambassador of Germany to Belarus Wolfram Maas saw the discussion of issues referring to supporting cooperation between banks and companies from both countries.

Also a number of working meetings with heads of various German companies – partners of Bank’s customers were held. Participants of such meetings discussed the development of business contacts.

Organizers of the forum, mainly Commerzbank, Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Representative Office of German Economy in Minsk, Belarusbank, Embassy of Germany in Belarus and of Belarus in Germany, hope to enhance the mutually beneficial cooperation.
