Following a review under Standard & Poor's revised bank criteria international rating agency affirmed credit ratings of Belarusbank at B-/C, the outlook is negative. Credit rating of Belarusbank remains at the level of sovereign ratings of Republic of Belarus.
Ratings of Belarusbank reflect acceptable risk position, funding, liquidity and strong business-position which report leading business position of the Bank in Republic of Belarus and well-known brand name.
A new methodology for assigning credit ratings to banks of Standard & Poor's is to use the components of assessment of country, economic and banking industry risk. Ratings of Belarusbank could be raised if sovereign ratings of Belarusbank were to improve.
