Belarusbank attracted USD 145 million syndicated term loan facility

In December, 2010 Belarusbank attracted USD 145 million syndicated loan facility. The Trade-Related Syndicated Term Loan Facility Agreement was signed during the Signing Ceremony, which took place in Minsk, Belarus, on the 13th of December.

OJSC Promsvyazbank, JSC VTB Bank, VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG, Credit Suisse AG, OTP Bank Plc, OJSC Alfa-Bank became the Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers of a 12 month syndicated loan for Belarusbank. Bayerische Landesbank acted as Agent.

The deal became the largest ever attracted syndicated loan in Belarusian banking system. The project was welcomed by the investors: the sum of applications exceeded the initially planned loan amount and amounted to USD 145 million.

Along with initial arrangers the following banks joined the syndication: London Forfaiting Company Limited, PPF banka a.s., Novikombank JSCB CJSC (Mandated Lead Arrangers); Banque de Commerce et de Placements, Credit Europe Bank N.V. (Lead Arrangers); AKA Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft m.b.H., Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, UBI Banca International S.A. (Со-Arrangers).

The deal is the seventh syndicated loan provided to Belarusbank since 2006, and it is appeared to be the next step in Belarusbank's cooperation with foreign investors. The largest Belarusian bank plans to increase its presence in the international financial market and to continue raising foreign funds for the economy of the Republic of Belarus.
