Belarusbank in the Chinese financial market

logo_378_378Belarusbank's PR activities for foreign partners have become a traditional element in the strategy of international business development. Conferences, presentations and special workshops are held almost in all parts of the world where potential interest of the bank or its customers exists. During such events the bank opens promising areas of cooperation to foreign partners, develops existing business contacts and establishes new business relationships.

Partnership development in the Chinese financial market becomes increasingly important and requested by Belarusian business community. Being the only Belarusian bank present in China, Belarusbank is active in establishing business relations with Chinese financial institutions in various areas of interbank business.

In the context of such activities Belarusbank held a special promotional presentation "Belarusbank. Business. Beijing" on October 20, 2010 in Beijing. The major and potential partners of the Bank in the Chinese financial market participated in this event; among them were: the Export - Import Bank of China, Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China CITIC Bank, China Development Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Everbright Bank, Sinosure. Besides the presentation was attended by colleagues from Russian and Kazakh banks, whose offices are present in Chinese financial market - CJSC "Promsvyazbank" (Russia) and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (Halyk Bank).

The timing for the presentation was intentionally chosen immediately after the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko to China. This visit confirmed the strategic character of cooperation between the two countries. During the official visit of the President there were a number of bilateral documents signed on joint projects implementation totaling over $ 3.5 billion. Particularly there were three loan agreements, eight commercial contracts and two framework agreements signed on the implementation of bilateral projects in energy, construction, industry, road and transport infrastructure.

The speeches of the representatives of Belarusbank and Belarusian embassy, followed by discussion, were focused on discussing specific areas of cooperation in arranging funding for the contracts, concluded during the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to China. The participants had an opportunity to update the position and develop common approaches to further interbank cooperation.
