The prospects for cooperation were discussed at the meeting of the representatives of Bank of China (Eluosi) and Belarusbank held on October 7, 2009. The Chinese party was represented by the President of the bank Chzhao Lyantsze and Credit Division Head Yui Chzhitsyn. Belarusbank was represented by the members of the Board Valentina Nazarenko, Sergey Pasarik, Deputy Director of the International Projects Department Mikhail Kulichkov, Deputy Head of the Board Assistant Evgeniy Bogomazov.
Mr. Chzhao emphasized that China and Belarus are bound by traditional cooperation and his bank may take its niche in providing financing of particular projects.
- After the first meeting with the management of your bank we decided to extend the limits and the volume of trade financing. Their volume is 6.5 million USD at the moment, - said the head of the Chinese credit and financial institution - but this is only a test step. With the economic situation improving the volume of investments could be significantly increased. We consider the banking market of Belarus as being one of the major platforms for development of our services, and we consider Belarusbank a serious business partner.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Board Valentina Nazarenko said that Belarusbank reckons the potential of cooperation with China as being great and confirmed the willingness of the bank to take part in all stages of negotiations, act as guarantor of investments in the Belarusian economy in order to minimize the risks. The meeting was conducted in a friendly and business atmosphere. It witnessed the mutual interest of the parties in cooperation and development of the joint projects which could be beneficial both for our banks and our countries.
