As a result in current year the position of the leading bank in the country Belarusbank has been strengthened. The bank has moved 76 positions up in comparison with the previous year and is now on 600th place. Such step up has been achieved due to the fulfillment of strategic goals of the bank, aimed at developing of international cooperation and strengthening bank’s position on the local and foreign markets. In 2006 Belarusbank was awarded by “The Banker” a title of the Bank of the Year in the Republic of Belarus . In current year as estimated by this magazine Belarusbank has moved from 18th to 17th place among the largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe.
The improvement of position of the largest bank in the country at foreign level will not only enhance the bank’s image as a reliable partner in the emerging Belarusian market, but will also have a positive effect on the international image of the Belarusian banking system.
