Belarusbank’s subsidiary ASB Leasing LLC and Poland’s Bank Pekao have concluded a loan agreement to the tune of EUR 26.5m. . The signing ceremony took place in Warsaw.
The funds provided by the Polish bank will be used to finance the supply of three 6-carriage Diesel trains made by Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz S.A. for their further lease by Belarusian Railways. Belarusbank acted as the guarantor of the fulfillment of ASB Leasing’s obligations to the Polish bank.
It was the first agreement that Bank Pekao concluded with a Belarusian bank. For Belarus cooperation with Poland is one of the priority areas. Belarus has around 500 enterprises fully or partially owned by Polish investors, including more than 370 actively working small, medium and large companies. Polish enterprises successfully compete in the Belarusian market. They resort to credit support of Polish banks.
Experts name machine-building, pharmaceuticals, wood-working, information technologies, transport and logistics among the most promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and Poland.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Belarusian Embassy in Poland.
The project is expected to improve the quality and safety of passenger transportation services provided by Belarusian Railways both domestically and abroad.
Upon signing of the agreement the parties expressed their confidence that economic relations between Belarus and Poland would further develop at a fast pace.
