Belarusbank became a partner of Digital Banking Conference which focused on digital transformation of the banking sector and the future of financial institutions.
“Three or four years ago the share of payments performed via the bank’s remote service channels was as small as 20-25%, while the rest was processed by bank tellers. Now remote payments account for 80% of all payments”, — said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Alexander Egorov.
According to the participants of the conference, clients’ demands are always changing, and the competitive ability of banks depends on how quickly they will be able to digitalize their products.
Vladimir Basko, Director General of Scientific and Technological Association Infopark and member of the Supervisory Board of Belarusbank, believes that bank of the future is a bank that helps a client to improve his/her education and health using information about his/her financial transactions.
“Working with client data, banks can develop new services either on their own or in association with fintech companies”, -- he added.
During the conference regulators, members of the financial market and IT experts elaborated a number of proposals to be included in Belarus’ draft digital banking development strategy that is currently under revision.
