Belarusbank Raises EUR 151 Million Syndicated Loan

On December 27, 2018 Belarusbank raised a EUR 151 million syndicated loan. It is the bank's 15th large-scale transaction. The funds are provided in tranches for 1.5 and 2 years for corporate-wide purposes and financing of trade contracts of the bank's customers. The transaction was arranged by 14 financial institutions of Russia and CIS for three of which it was the first deal of this kind with the bank.

Aliaksandr Paliuka, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank, noted that the Bank had debuted on the market of international syndicated lending in 2006 and today's success again shows a high level of trust of investors to it as well as the authority and professionalism of the arrangers. "We are thankful to the arrangers and bookruners for their support and fruitful cooperation", he added.

The fact that such a lump sum was granted to the largest bank of Belarus demonstrates a high appetite of international partners to Belarusian risk and Belarusbank's risk in particular. The deal is unique in terms of both volume, maturity and price as well as the range of participating banks.

The arrangers mentioned that Belarusbank is one of the most recognized Belarusian brands in the international financial circles that has proved itself a reliable business partner having a precisely formulated, clear and consistent strategy.
