Belarusbank acted as a general sponsor of the international conference “Belarus: Trade Finance 2018” held in Minsk. The capital became one of CIS largest platforms for meetings of export credit agencies, banks, and large companies. The issues tackled at the conference include an overview of global economic climate and its influence on the Belarusian market, needs and growth prospects of export and trade finance, the role of international financial institutions.
Discussions were attended by representatives from Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Egypt, Ireland, Italy, Canada, China, Macedonia, UAE, Oman, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan. The number of attendants and their geographical spread testify to considerable interest of international financial circles to more intensive cooperation and integration with our country regarding structuring external economic deals and increasing their effectiveness.
Manager of the largest national bank expressed confidence that this conference might promote formation of new business contacts and implementation of initiatives, just like in the previous years.
Belarusbank established partnership relations with more than 100 banks from 35 countries of the world. Bank's customers have an opportunity to use financing of foreign trade contracts with contractors from any corner of the world. The bank is ready to participate in implementation of large scale investment projects in various branches of economy.
Further development of trade finance will benefit from a decision of experts from Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on moving Belarus from the 7th to the 6th category in the Country Risk Classification, and from an increase of Belarusbank's ratings by the Fitch Ratings international rating agency.
Fruitful discussions between local and international banking specialists, and representatives of CIS countries, face-to-face interaction with actual parties to transactions will help solve many issues and strengthen business contacts, find new partners.
