International cooperation with foreign financial institutions is one of the major priorities of Belarusbank's activity. The number of banks with established correspondent relations has increased more than 2 times in the last 5 years and exceeded 900 as of September 1, 2007.
Purposeful work and close cooperation in joint project development allowed to gain foreign credit and financial institutions’ confidence as evidenced by continual growth of credit lines for interbank transactions (more than USD 930 mln). Amount of credit lines granted by 72 foreign banks for trade financing reached USD 713.4 mln as of September 1, 2007.
Instruments of trade financing developed dynamically as an alternative to direct crediting. The total amount of borrowed assets of foreign banks in the form of trade financing of clients’ foreign contracts reached USD 719.5 mln. as of September 1, 2007.
