S&P upgrades Belarusbank’s long-term credit ratings (press release)

The international rating agency S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the long-term credit ratings of Belarusbank from ‘B-‘ to ‘B’. Outlook is ‘Stable’. The agency has affirmed the short-term credit ratings of the Bank at ‘B‘.

The rating action against Belarusbank was followed by an upgrade of the sovereign credit ratings of the Republic of Belarus on October 6, 2017.

This assessment reflects the Bank's leading position in the Belarusian market. The Bank's business position is rated by S & P Global Ratings as ‘strong’. According to S&P, Belarusbank’s funding is assessed as ‘above average’ compared to the general level of the banking sector of Belarus.

The upgrade of the long-term credit ratings of the Bank serves the transparency and openness of the activity of Belarusbank. The fact that Belarusbank has a high level of financial solvency and is regarded as a reliable business partner facilitates foreign investments to the economy of the Republic of Belarus.
