Belarusbank became the title partner of the annual international conference titled “The Republic of Belarus: Trade Finance 2017” which opened today in Minsk. This is one of the largest international venues in the CIS that gathers together representatives of export credit agencies, banks and businesses. Representatives of Austria, Belarus, Germany, Canada, China, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Russia, Japan and other countries were accredited to participate in discussions.
“Belarus has trade relations with practically all countries of the world. And, naturally, Belarusbank is present where our and our business partners have their interests. We are ready to provide financial support to facilitate the realization of their business initiatives. It is impossible to implement large-scale investment projects and hence develop business and the national economy without financial support”, said Acting Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Aliaksandr Paliuka.
Belarusbank has a big experience in the sphere of trade finance. It has 100 partner banks in 35 countries. The bank’s clients have the opportunity to obtain finance for their foreign trade contracts with counterparties from any part of the world.
The total number of the bank’s corporate clients is over 80,000. That number includes the largest industrial and commercial companies of Belarus.
Last year the share of Belarusbank in the total volume of Belarusian documentary operations related to export reached 60%, import – 30%. The bank attracted the volume of finance equivalent to more than $2 billion to the national economy. Global Finance named Belarusbank the best bank in the Republic of Belarus.
Aliaksand Paliuka confirmed that the bank is open for dialogue and proposed of free form of discussion of any relevant issued within the framework of the conference.
“The further development of mutually beneficial relations between Belarusbank on the one hand and its partners and their clients on the other, the establishment of new contacts, the determination of new areas of business growth and the introduction of efficient cooperation schemes, the expansion of the geography of the interests of the banking community – all that is an integral part of the international business strategy of our bank”, Aliaksandr Paliuka said.
The conference focuses on problems and challenges that banks and businesses may face while structuring trade finance in the current economic environment. Fruitful discussions between representatives of local and international banks, as well as representatives of the CIS, as well as direct personal contact with the participants of transactions is expected to contribute to the development of positive solutions and strengthening of business contacts, as well as finding new partners.
The number of participants of the conference, as well as their wide geography prove a considerable interest of the international financial community in the development of cooperation and integration with Belarus in the field of structured foreign economic transactions and improvement of their efficiency.
