Moody's confirms a bank financial strength rating (BFSR) of E+ to Belarusbank, which translates to a Baseline Credit Assessment of B1. The rating is underpinned by the bank's dominant market position as the country's largest bank by assets, capital and retail deposits, as well as existence of very high probability of government support in a period of financial distress.
Moody's assigns a long-term global local currency (GLC) deposit rating of B1 to Belarusbank. The rating factors the bank's dominant position in Belarus the country's banking, the state's ongoing support to the vast public sector, to which the bank is mainly exposed, and its sound asset quality to date.
The bank's long-term global foreign-currency deposit rating of B2 is constrained by the foreign currency deposit ceiling of B2 for Belarus.
All of the bank's international credit ratings carry a stable outlook.
Starting from 2007 Moody's Investors Service is the second international rating agency which assigns international ratings to Belarusbank.
