On July 2, 2026, the delegation of Belarusbank, led by Viktar Ananich, Chairman of the Board and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee for Economy, Budget and Finances of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, attended the XXII Meeting of the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Consortium (SCO IBC), which was held in Cholpon-Ata and chaired by Eldik Bank (Kyrgyzstan). Last year, Belarusbank became a full member of the Consortium and, for the first time, participated in the current meeting of the Council in its new capacity.

Following the results of the meeting, the participants approved and signed the Strategy for the Further Development of the SCO IBC for the period of 2027-2031, as well as the Roadmap of the SCO Interbank Consortium for the implementation of cooperation in the field of ESG, sustainable and socially inclusive finance. The documents are intended to consolidate the efforts of the IBC members in promoting multilateral cooperation and fostering sustainable and innovative development of the SCO member states.

In his speech, Viktor Ananich emphasized the significance of IBC in enhancing economic and financial capabilities of the SCO member states in challenging external circumstances, and he called upon the participants to join efforts in the interest of tangible benefits for the people of the SCO nations. The head of the delegation has proposed a number of specific measures to enhance the performance of the IBC.

V. Ananich also held meetings with the management of a number of member banks of the Consortium, during which the parties discussed strengthening interbank cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the SCO IBC.
