On October 9 this year, Chinese rating agency Dagong (Dagong Global Credit Rating Co., Ltd.), following an in-depth analysis of the bank, assigned it a credit rating on the Chinese scale at AA+ with a stable outlook. This value refers to the upper limit of the AA rating group, which, following the Dagong methodology, means: "Very strong ability to fulfill obligations, there is a small sensitivity to the impact of negative changes in the economic situation." The next step is AAA — the highest possible credit rating, matching the level of the group of global systemically important banks in Mainland China.
"The thousands-strong staff of Belarusbank, whom the state entrusted with the management of the main commercial bank of Belarus and the representation of the banking sector of the country in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the historical One Belt, One Road initiative, was highly appreciated by one of the most reputable Chinese agencies. The credit rating will continuously contribute to improving the position of Belarusbank in the Chinese market. This is important for increasing the adaptability of our bank's financial services to the interests of Belarusian organizations that work in the field of trade and investment cooperation between Belarus and China," said Viktar Ananich, Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank.
Dagong rating agency started its core business back in 1994. It is controlled by the State Council of the People's Republic of China (central government) through China Reform Holdings Corporation Ltd.
