Belarusbank, China EximBank expand cooperation with $300m line of credit (press release)

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Viktar Perepelitsa during his visit to the People’s Republic of China met with Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of China Yuan Xingyong in the head office of the Chinese bank.

Belarusbank and the Export-Import Bank of China signed a framework agreement regarding a line of credit. For the purpose of the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between our banks and development of the Belarusian economy, the Export-Import Bank of China established a line of credit for Belarus in the amount equivalent to $300 million. The amount will be disbursed by means of separate loan agreements with the Chinese bank that will serve to finance new projects in various fields of activity.

The aforesaid agreement is a new phase of credit and investment cooperation between our countries. The establishment of the said line of credit for Belarusbank testifies to its high level of business solvency and trust in the Belarusian bank on the part of the financial system of China.

The document was signed on the eve of the working trip of the Belarusian Head of State to the People’s Republic of China in the framework of his visit to the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on June 9-10, 2018.
